Meet The Clinic Owner
Jennifer Penrose
Who Is Jennifer Penrose, Founder of Penrose Physical therapy?
At Penrose Physical Therapy, everything we do is guided by one simple belief: people deserve to be heard.
When Dr. Jennifer Penrose founded the clinic in 2007, she wanted to create a different kind of physical therapy experience. After working in the profession since 2001, she saw how many patients left appointments feeling rushed, unheard, and frustrated by a healthcare system that often prioritizes volume over quality.
She knew there had to be a better way.
That’s why Penrose Physical Therapy was built around one-on-one care. Every patient works exclusively with a licensed physical therapist or licensed physical therapist assistant for the entire duration of every appointment. There are no overlapping schedules, no being passed between providers, and no treatment delegated to technicians. Instead, every visit is focused on understanding your story, identifying the true cause of your movement challenges, and creating a personalized plan that helps you achieve meaningful, long-term results.
We believe better care starts with better conversations.
When therapists have the time to listen, ask questions, and truly understand what matters most to each patient, treatment becomes far more effective. Whether someone’s goal is walking without discomfort, returning to a favorite hobby, recovering after surgery, or staying active for years to come, we take the time to build a treatment plan around those individual goals.
Our one-on-one model also allows us to provide the level of care that many patients tell us they have been missing elsewhere. During each visit, we carefully assess movement, provide hands-on manual therapy when appropriate, coach exercises in real time, and make immediate corrections that help improve movement patterns. Rather than simply handing someone a list of exercises, we work alongside them to ensure every session is productive, purposeful, and personalized.
This approach wasn’t created by accident. It was created from experience.
Before opening Penrose Physical Therapy, Dr. Penrose worked in busy clinics where therapists were often responsible for treating several patients at once while relying on technicians to supervise exercises. Although common in many practices, this model often limited the amount of individual attention each patient received and made it more difficult to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Penrose Physical Therapy was founded to change that experience for both patients and therapists.
We also believe that exceptional patient care begins with supporting exceptional clinicians. By giving our therapists the time and resources they need to focus on one patient at a time, we’ve created a culture that encourages collaboration, professional growth, and long-term relationships with the people we serve. When therapists can fully focus on their patients without feeling rushed or overwhelmed, everyone benefits.
Today, our team has grown to eight dedicated therapists who share the same vision that inspired the clinic nearly two decades ago. Together, we are proud to serve the South Sound community by helping people stay healthy, mobile, and active through evidence-based physical therapy and natural treatment approaches whenever possible.
At Penrose Physical Therapy, our mission has remained the same since day one: to provide one-on-one care, deliver lasting results, and ensure every patient feels heard, understood, and supported throughout their journey back to the activities they love.
