What is the fastest, easiest, cheapest way to decrease chronic systemic inflammation?

So if you recall in this healthy tip series we talked about the anti-inflammation diet.  We talked about how scientists have found that chronic inflammation is linked to chronic diseases: diabetes, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s, arthritis, depression, cancer, asthma and more.  Chronic inflammation is exacerbated by lifestyle factors: a diet with unhealthy fats and processed foods (packaged and canned meals), pastas/starches/sugars, lack of exercise and poor dental hygiene or gum disease.  The food we eat causes certain bacteria in our gut to populate and it either curbs or increases our systemic inflammation. Before going further, if you’d like to watch a video for this topic instead of read, follow this link to view it on our YouTube page: https://youtu.be/DPlFedNlgjw

One of the quickest things you can do to decrease systemic inflammation is stop eating foods that are processed or laden with unhealthy fats– those quick packaged meals or fast foods.  And avoid lots of starches and artificial sugars.  Those foods increase the gut bacteria that promotes more systemic inflammation!  No one needs more inflammation in their body!  And remember to floss your teeth every day to keep that bacteria from traveling to your gut and creating more systemic inflammation!

The next best thing to do to decrease system inflammation is getting half your plate full of veggies and fruits at every meal.  Whoa!  Do you have time for that?  Do you have the money for that?  It is not easy or quick nor is it cheap to buy organic fruits and veggies.  And why organic?  Because organic vegetables and fruits had to produce more antioxidants to “weather life” so they contain more antioxidants that you need vs the non-organic variety.  I certainly can do it for dinner but I find it very difficult to get the adequate servings at breakfast and lunch.  I’m closer to 3 servings a day but getting 5+ servings of fruits and vegetables every day of my life is not possible with my current season of life.  I know very few people who can do this every single day; as the Centers for Disease Control reported “we consume far below the recommended intake of fruits and vegetables.”  The Journal of the American Medical Association found in their studies that adults are not getting enough antioxidants primarily Vitamin A, C, E  and states “It appears prudent for all Americans to take vitamin and mineral supplements.”

If we cannot get ½ plate of veggies and fruits in our system at every meal the next best thing is to find a high quality scientifically validated supplement.  It is actually cheaper, faster, and more efficient way of getting your antioxidant levels up and combat the systemic inflammation.  Since my lifestyle would not allow ½ plate of veggies and fruit at each meal every day consistently I chose to find a supplement that is full of minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants that are backed by scientific studies.   I don’t want any gaps to put me at risk for chronic inflammation and the diseases linked with chronic inflammation.

So how do you know which supplement to choose?

LifePak by Pharmanex was the first comprehensive dietary supplement to show antioxidant benefits in double-blind, placebo-controlled studies. There are more than 200,000 published studies on the antioxidants in LifePak and nearly 800,000 published studies on its comprehensive list of 59+ ingredients (40+antioxidant nutrients). Furthermore, LifePak has been subjected to several clinical studies that have demonstrated specific antioxidant and cardiovascular benefits from regular and consistent use of LifePak.  In fact I will just mention one study found that subjects regularly using LifePak had a 61% higher antioxidant skin scan score than those who reported eating more than 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily.  LifePak is listed in the PDR (Physician Desk Reference) and is NSF certified required by professional athletic teams.  LifePak is endorsed by Yale, Stanford, and the US Olympic Teams.  With our discount it ends up being $2 a day to be on Lifepak.  A great way to combat systemic inflammation and complement your busy lifestyle and fill the nutritional gap that most of us have from time to time.

If you want to know if your current eating habits or supplement is working then come get your antioxidant scan test. It is a quick 60 sec scan of your hand.  This technology has been validated by the Yale Cancer Center and is in ~1200 provider offices in the US.

There you have it.  The fastest, cheapest, most efficient ways to combat chronic inflammation and give yourself the best defense against diseases linked to chronic inflammation.  If you want more information about LifePak or Pharmanex supplements and scientific studies please email jennifer@penrosept.com.
